Day 01 Trek into the Jungle and Hillside Resort

This tour starts in Luang Prabang were you meet & greet your guide in the morning, at your hotel or selected pick up point. We take a short ride to the That Thong waterfall where we start our soft adventure trek to the hidden valley retreat. Take your time to explore the forest and the rarely visited protected area with your guide on small trails. After a decent uphill walk you will meet villagers in the Khamu village. Learn more about the rural life in this small Lao community, and rest for a while. After the village visit, we take another short hike and arrive at the small resort for a Lao style lunch beside the pool or in the garden.

Take your time to rest in your room or take another short walk to the viewpoint on the hill, where you can see the Mekong and Luang Prabang on a clear day. Dinner is served at the small restaurant or in the lush gardens.

Day 02 Discover Kuang Si and Lao Buffalo Dairy farm

Enjoy an early morning workout or a leisurely walk in the beautiful countryside and take your breakfast at the Resort. Then you will take a short vehicle through the valley and get dropped off at a Hmong ethnic village. From here we start out for a 3-hour walk to the famous Kuang Si stream and Waterfalls. A short steep climb brings you to the bottom of the falls, where you have a chance to cool off and take a dip in the many cascading waters.

After your time at the falls, we provide transfer to the new Lao Buffalo dairy that produces cheese and a range of delicious dairy products. The diary provides income and a sustainable future for the Lao people involved. Learn how to milk a Buffalo, cuddle a Buffalo for the perfect selfie and try some incredible ice cream. The Buffalo may be the stars of the show but the playful pigs, chickens and cute rabbits are also plenty of fun for the young and young at heart!

We return back to Luang Prabang in the late afternoon.

Preparation

Please bring only your minimum of luggage as you have to carry it in your day-pack. Also bring your swim suit for the pool and the waterfalls.
