The Eastern Circuit tour combines both cultural and cycling highlights in remote mountains areas. The World Heritage town of Luang Prabang provides the perfect starting point for heading to the high plains of the Phonsavan district, site of the mysterious Plain of Jars.
A great option for cycling travelers who want to slow down and enjoy some meaningful cultural interaction with people during their visit to Thailand and Laos. This biking tour traverses some of the most beautiful areas in northern Laos and features a Mekong river journey, the back roads of Laos, the UNESCO World Heritage Town of Luang Phabang, refreshing waterfalls, high mountains, and different cultures along the way.

Day 01 Arrival in Luang Prabang
Meet with our team for a short sunset ride around Luang Prabang. Stay overnight in a guesthouse.
Day 02 Roundtrip to Kuang Si Waterfall (60 Km)
Your primarily off-road ride to the scenic Kuang Si Waterfalls will pass through Hmong and Khamu ethnic villages. Enjoy a swim in the clear water basins of the Kuang Si Waterfalls. Overnight in a guesthouse.
Day 03 Luang Prabang – Kiu Kacham (78 Km)
This day will probably be the most challenging of the tour, with to ascents of 15 and 24 kilometers. We'll be cycling on winding roads with stunning views, passing hill tribe villages inhabited mostly by Hmong. Overnight in a basic guesthouse.
Day 04 Kiu Ka Cham – Phoukhoun (55 Km) & Transfer To Phonsavan
Today we will cycle between 1400 and 1000 metres. Up and down through small scenic valleys and over mountain ridges with stunning views. After lunch in Phoukhoun, we will have a transfer to Phonsavan, where the mysterious Plains of Jars are located. Overnight in Hotel.
Day 05 Roundtrip to Plain of Jars (30-60 Km)
This is a perfect ride to get used to the new climate as we are over 1000 meters above sea level. The Plain of Jars remains a place whose mysterious past has led to diverse speculations. Why did people make these amazing stone formations and what were they used for? Stay overnight in hotel.
Day 06 Phonsavan – Viengthong (98 Km)
After a 1 hr. transfer, we'll start cycling though very nice scenery. We have to cross some passes that will reward us with great views. From Nam Neun, we'll put the bikes back on the back up car and drive the last hour to Viengthong. Overnight in basic guesthouse.
Day 07 Viengthong – Vieng Kham (100 Km)
The day starts again with a short transfer to the highest point of today at 1200 mtrs. above sea level. The amazing landscapes will inspire you to keep your camera ready – especially as we drop down into the small town of Vieng Kham. It’s just another wonderful biking day. Overnight in basic guesthouse.
Day 09 Vieng Kham – Nong Khiaw (49 Km)
This day features some of the best mountain scenery on this trip. We start the day with a challenging ascent of 800 altitude meters. From the top of the mountain, it’s all downhill to the very scenic valley of Nong Khiau, located on the banks of the Nam Ou. Overnight in resort.
Day 09 Nong Khiaw – Huai Kan (Boat Ride) - Luang Prabang (66 Km)
The day starts with a relaxed 2-3 hour boat ride on the Nam Ou River. Enjoy the downstream journey, with fine views of the limestone mountains, before cycling once again from Huai Kan onwards. Following the slightly hilly Road 13, you will return to Luang Prabang. Overnight in guesthouse.
Day 10 Finish
End of program.
