Day 01 Vientiane (D)

After hotel check in we will get fitted with our TREK FX bikes ready for the challenge ahead, we can warm the saddle with a tour along the Mekong before we Carb load with a pasta party at a local renowned restaurant.

Day 02 Ban Kuene (B, L, D)

Today the challenge begins in earnest with a 90+ km ride on a combination of Dirt Road and tarmac through the village of Tangon passed paddy villages and beautiful mountain landscape to the shores of the ‘Sea of Laos’, Nam Ngum. Cycle 90km

Day 03 Ban Kuene to Vang Vieng (B, L, D)

After enjoying breakfast with a beautiful lakeside view, we begin our ride north where you'll have your choice of great fish restaurants., you'll continue on a quiet back road through small, hidden valleys and authentic villages. You stay overnight in the backpackers' paradise of Vang Vieng set amongst dramatic scenery on the banks of the Nam Song River. Cycle 120km

Day 04 Vang Vieng to Phou Khoun (B, L, D)

Today is a real challenge with over 1800m of climbing. The toughest climb is at the end of the ride to the highest point of our journey - the tiny town of Phou Khoun. We'll reach Phou Khoun in time for dusk and relax with a cold Lao beer and watch the kids play in this sleepy crossroads town as the sun sets over the mountains you will tackle in the morning. Cycle 103km

Day 05 Phou Khoun to Luang Prabang (B, L, D)

Stunning mountain ride today through the vale of Kasi's winding alpinesque roads with awe-inspiring vistas and tiny roadside villages clinging to the cliffs. Friendly villagers call ‘Sabaidee’ (hello) as you push through this challenging day to the tiny rest spot of Kiu Kacham. This final day is definitely a day of ups and downs as the total ascent is 2280m and the total descent is 3220m. Cycle 128km

On Completion of this marathon ride, we will have a welcome party at Khaiphaen restaurant a TREE alliance and Friends International Program in the heart of the ancient city.

Space limited to 12 riders. The tour is guaranteed to depart at 6 participants. 

FUNDRAISING AND THE HOSPITAL

Lao Friends Hospital for Children (LFHC) is the only free hospital and the only children’s hospital in northern Laos, serving as a lifeline for thousands of children. More information on the hospital can be found here.

Participants of this challenge are encouraged to create their fundraising team for this adventure in Laos. Ask your family and friends support for your ride and for the children in Laos!
