Day 01 Boat Ride and Village Exploration (L/D)

This two-day tour begins with a relaxing boat ride along the Nam Ou River from Nong Khiaw to Muang Ngoi, where you'll explore the village and visit a cave and viewpoint. Next, you'll travel about 20 minutes by boat to Sop Kong village, walk through the village and rice paddies to the Tad Mok waterfalls for swimming, followed by lunch. Afterward, you'll return to Sop Kong Village for a homestay, where you'll learn to cook local cuisine. 3 hours walking, 4 hours if wet.

Day 02 Scenic Hiking and Village Tour (B/L)

After breakfast, cross the Ou River to Sop Khan village, and walk for two hours along a small road to Phayong and have lunch. After lunch continue through farmland and small trails to Ban Huay Hoy Bamboo Weaving village and afterwards take a boat back to Nong Khiaw. 2.5 hours walking, 5 if wet.

Preparation:

Trekking sandals or trainers that you don’t mind getting wet are perfect for this trip. Easy to medium. Warm layers are recommended from Nov-Jan. A dry set of shirt and shorts for the way back to the Homestay is good as well. We provide drinking water, snacks, and English speaking guide.
