Day 01 Luang Prabang to Nong Khiaw jungle trek and mountain (L,D)

Leaving Luang Prabang behind, we head into the rugged backcountry. Today’s trek takes you through lush jungle and traditional farmland as we begin our ascent into the mountains. We will arrive at a local village where the Hmong and Khmu communities live side-by-side.

Trekking: 4–5 hours (6 hours if raining).

Stay: Traditional Village Homestay.

Day 02 The Heart of the Highlands (B,L,D)

This is our most challenging and rewarding day. You will traverse deep jungle trails and high ridges offering spectacular views of the remote Northern landscape. Expect to cross streams and walk through water (ankle-deep or higher), adding to the sense of adventure. We conclude the day in a peaceful village, far removed from modern distractions.

Trekking: 6–7 hours (8 hours if raining).

Stay: Traditional Village Homestay.

Day 03 Caves, Waterfalls, and Waterways (B,L)

After a local breakfast, we trek toward the river valley. Along the way, we explore a majestic limestone cave and reward our efforts with a swim in a secluded waterfall. The journey concludes with a relaxing boat ride back toward civilization—or, for those seeking one last thrill, an optional kayaking leg.

Trekking: 4 hours (4.5 hours if raining).

Return: Approximately 5:30 PM.

Preparation

Bring only the gear and clothing necessary for the tour. You may leave your extra luggage and valuables in our Tiger Trail main office before the tour. Your guide will help you on the morning of the tour.

Difficulty: Medium-Hard. This tour involves long walking hours on varied terrain.

Conditions: Be prepared for river crossings where you will get wet above the ankles. Trails can be challenging and slippery if it rains, particularly on Day 2.

What to Bring: Sturdy trekking shoes (suitable for water), a small overnight pack, swimwear, and a spirit of adventure. Extra sandals for wearing in the evenings.

Fitness Level: A good level of physical fitness and trekking experience is recommended.
