Mission:
At Tiger Trail Travel, our mission is to be a trailblazing travel company that delivers exceptional and personalized travel experiences while upholding our commitment to sustainability, community empowerment, and environmental conservation. We strive to create unforgettable journeys that not only enrich the lives of our travellers but also make a positive and lasting impact on the destinations we visit.
Guiding Principles:
- We are bound by a shared commitment to promoting sustainable business practices and minimizing the environmental impact of our operations. Our collective goal is to protect and preserve the natural and cultural heritage of the communities we engage with, ensuring their long-term viability for generations to come.
- We are steadfast in our dedication to ethical business conduct, adhering to all applicable laws and regulations in our interactions.
- We believe in providing authentic and immersive travel experiences, allowing our clients to engage with local cultures, traditions, and communities. Our aim is to foster genuine interactions that go beyond the surface, creating meaningful connections with our customers.
- Integrity is a core cultural value that we uphold. We are committed to delivering fair, reliable, and innovative products and services.
- We fully support efforts to protect human rights and establish socially and environmentally sustainable chains of responsibility. We firmly believe in the compatibility of good business practices with being a responsible business partner.
Fundamentals:
- Our Code of Ethics and Conduct is based on international declarations and principles, including ILO Rights at Work, the Rio Declaration on Sustainable Development, the UN Sustainable Development Goals, and the UNWTO Global Code of Ethics for Tourism.
- These guidelines serve as a compass for ethical and sustainable conduct for our supplier network as well as our customers.
- We encourage our suppliers to establish clear policies and procedures that encompass respecting human rights and labor laws, supporting local communities, addressing bribery and corruption risks, mitigating environmental impacts, protecting wildlife, ensuring quality assurance, and promoting health and safety.
- We are dedicated to delivering excellence in every aspect of our services. From meticulously crafting tailor-made itineraries to providing exceptional customer service, we strive for excellence to ensure our travellers have the best possible experience.
Business Ethics:
- Trust, integrity, honesty, responsibility, commitment, and credibility are foundational values that we expect from our suppliers.
- Sustainability is integral to our business relationship, and we seek a mutual understanding of and adherence to sustainable development.
- Our company ensures that no marketing and advertising document, statement, or other publication, shall contain misleading information, over advertise and under deliver. We guarantee that all our staff are aware of and ensure that what is offered can be delivered to our clients with ease.
Sustainable Local Development:
- We aim to maintain cultural relevance, support local sustainable development, and contribute to community sustainability.
- We support local economic development and respect local customs and culture.
- We minimize negative impacts on communities and engage guests with local people under meaningful circumstances.
Wildlife Protection:
- We reject support for businesses that exploit wild animals.
- We offer tourism experiences that prioritize the protection of wildlife and the environment.
- We demand transparency from our suppliers regarding their animal welfare policies and expect them to record and report any instances of inappropriate animal treatment.
- You may come across stores offering items like horns from wild ungulates, heads of various animals, wild boar tusks, elephant teeth, and bracelets made from tortoise shells. It is highly recommended to steer clear of purchasing these products because they are derived from endangered animals, and such transactions are widely regarded as ethically questionable.
- Furthermore, you might encounter depictions of Buddha painted on the shells of potentially endangered turtles, as well as body parts from endangered species such as pangolins, bears, cobras, pythons, and peacocks, which form a collection of items from these imperiled creatures. It's strongly advised not to engage in the purchase of any of these items.
Accessible Tourism:
- We commit to accessible tourism, ensuring that all customers are welcomed and served appropriately.
- This commitment includes adherence to "good practices" and guidance for tourism accessibility, with a focus on respecting human diversity and fostering disability awareness.
Child Welfare and Labor:
- Suppliers are expected to implement measures to protect children from exploitation and abuse.
- Child labour is defined as any form of work that deprives children of their rightful childhood, their potential, and their dignity while also posing physical, mental, social, or moral dangers to them. Furthermore, it interferes with their education by either preventing their access to schools, compelling them to leave school prematurely, or burdening them with excessively long and strenuous work hours.
- The employment of a child under 14 years old is strictly prohibited.
- We expect our suppliers to provide comprehensive training on child protection and to promptly report incidents to the relevant authorities.
- Support for commercial sexual activities is unequivocally prohibited, and child privacy must be respected.
Environmental Issues and Ecological Ethos:
- We adhere to environmental laws and regulations, actively reducing our environmental impact and promoting sustainable practices.
- Our approach involves supporting local goods and services, minimizing physical impacts on communities, and respecting local culture.
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Ensures compliance with health and safety laws.
- Anticipates, identifies, and controls risks.
- Implements emergency plans and response procedures.
- Provide safety instructions, first aid equipment, and trained staff.
- Ensure first aid equipment is adequately stocked and available based upon the extent of the activities performed as well as the potential risk of injury.
- Ensure that any services provided, which are being promoted by us are safe and fit for purpose.
Exotic Foods:
- We collectively strive to minimize the consumption of exotic foods that may include endangered animals.
- Investigate and discourage the use of rare or endangered animals in meals.
- Informs and discourages travellers and suppliers from supporting local cuisine involving wild or endangered animals.
We share a profound commitment to ethical conduct and responsible business practices, and we expect each member of our network and customers to adhere to this Code of Ethics and Conduct with dedication and integrity.
