Childrens Hospital Annual Half-Marathon

This two day 'Fair Trek' adventure with great landscapes and interaction with local rural village life. The trek follows the slopes and hills of a huge mountain range along trails used by the locals and passes along Khmu and Hmong villages. Get to meet the local people and even stay overnight in one of the small family home-stays. You will get an introduction to Lao Loum, Lao Theung, and Lao Sung people and culture. Share life and get to know the real Lao countryside. As you walk through this area you help the communities through your contributions. The tour also includes a visit to the Tad Sae waterfalls (seasonal).

This is a “Fair Trek” hiking tour that takes you through the foothills of beautiful limestone mountain covered with jungle to visit local Hmong and Khmu hill tribe villages. The tour includes a scenic ride on the Nam Khan River and, during the wet season, a visit to the refreshing Tad Sae waterfall where you can swim and explore. Funds from this Fair Trek help support the local community.

Experience the spectacular beauty of the Lao countryside by bike while raising money for the Lao Friends Childrens Hospital! On this 5 day challenge, you will experience beautiful villages and pass by lush mountain landscapes and enjoy delicious local food. You'll feel satisfied once you climb 1800m and the 3220m descent the following day. On Completion of this marathon ride, enjoy a welcome party at Khaiphaen restaurant a TREE alliance and Friends International Program in the heart of the ancient city of Luang Prabang.

This is a medium circuit similar to our BM1-1 tour but with both on- and off-road sections, a few more hills, and a river crossing by boat into local villages. The tour will take you to explore famous paper and weaving villages; through rice paddies, jungle and mountain landscape; and to the Nam Khan River and Tad Sae Waterfall (seasonal). Enjoy a day of biking through the foothills of mountains surrounding Luang Prabang to see jungle, village life, nature, and waterfalls.

This tour around Luang Prabang combines mountain biking with an easygoing kayaking trip. It brings exactly the right refreshment into your tropical day in Luang Prabang and takes you to some of the best sites, including golden temples overlooking the city and Henri Mouhot’s grave. After a biking tour through the Nam Khan valley and diverse village visits we take a break on the banks of the Nam Khan River. After lunch we take a refreshing plunge at Tad Sae Waterfall then we get our kayaks to paddle downriver on the Nam Khan back to Luang Prabang.
